Also infuriating, this article that damns our fantastic results with faint praise. Mentions Warwickshire going to NOC but totally ignores LD winning control of 3 councils!
Even the picture thumbnail for that article, the yellow arrow (no time to debate orange, yellow or gold) is downward which implies a poor performance which was quite the opposite.
Do you think so? Perhaps a few people might switch from LD to Reform, but experience of leaflets calling out the conservatives’ failures doesn’t seem to have converted to more seats for them. MSM is doing far more to promote Farage and Reform, I suspect.
So, you recognise that the mainstream media does you no favours, yet do nothing to engage with the public directly via the tools social media provides. It is incredibly frustrating that political parties spending so much time whining about the media and no time at all doing something about it.
We do rather a lot via social media, so I'm afraid I don't follow your point? E.g. on here you can see some of the Lib Dem activity https://go.bsky.app/CUxDzcc or Ed's had quite a lot of success on TikTok.
Plus more generally, it's why we spend so much time delivering leaflets and canvassing...
... as ways to reach people outside of the media. I think the hundreds of thousands of doors knocked on this year, to take another example, are rather more than doing nothing about the problem?
I'm an introverted hermit with a camera and a shed, not a large political parties with a national network of activists, talking exclusively about politics, and last month I had nearly 900k individuals watching my content, and almost 5M views overall. Any further questions?
You can't claim about Lib Dems social media presence being good, when You Tube has a poor viewership for the posts on Lib Dems channel. So why the mainstream media ignores Lib Dems more has to be done. This sounds like complacency
Looking at just one central social media channel is, I think it's fair to say, a fairly limited metric as it doesn't catch, for example, that we run a much more diversified approach, leaning heavily on local campaigners using the best social media channels to reach their own geographical communities
Thanks for your reply but such a disappointment. Begging emails went out because of what the far right used on social media campaigns in the local elections. If Lib Dems can match it, then why the begging emails?
The fundraising emails though Tony were for something different - to pay for targeted social media activity, hitting key geographic areas for winning under first past the post. That's very different from the sort of approach that was advocated in the video, all about blanket national audiences.
While the image in question is a disgrace that I'm shocked at from the Guardian of all people... you might be onto something with omitting Arsenal from the table.
More of that rubbish from the BBC too, who also repeat Farage's line that "Reform broke the two-party system". The BBC have never heard of the 2010 General Election or the Scottish Parliament. Or tried counting the total number of cllrs all the parties have.

And yet LibDems are running anti Far##e messages. This promotes him.
