Indeed, it just seems the fate of prisoners is an odd hill to fight from and won't help in the bigger argument you're looking at, imo. According to some sources, as many as 2/3 of trans female prisoners are for sexual offences

Add to that the stand out cases they grab the attention like Isla Bryson, a rapist, being remanded in a women's prison. I struggle to see how that person should be put into the female prison population for the sake of their rights, at the expense of the safety of women
And that's just the inescapable contradiction at play here, it can't be resolved by arguing the other side to death. It's like unionism or the northern Ireland - both sides have valid points but they can't be mutually reconciled.
The only possible way forwards is new facilities, categories in sport, etc etc, to enable trans people to live on an equal footing with peers, in safety and with the services they rightly should have access too, and free from discrimination. But don't dump this on women like they haven't got enough
