I'm playing through Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time right now, it's reminding me how much I loved these games as a kid and genuinely how they changed me as a person. All the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games have incredible stories and characters. Not a book, but it is a series (of games) "^^
Honestly I don't read very much, I've mostly been reading philosophy books lately. But from what I have read, my favorite is The Slab by Karen Traviss in the Gears of War universe
Favorite series is Narnia, I love the mix of fantasy with childlike wonder and whimsey (has the same tone as Star Wars or Avatar: the Last Airbender for that reason).
But my favorite book is probably Speaker for the Dead ( Sequel to Ender's Game). A book about the most extreme empathy imaginable.
Probably gonna be fantasy Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaimen, Tolkien (books not films) and David Eddings older stuff (belgariad malloreon. Then for more modern thought provoking fiction Jodi Picoult. But I also love art history artists books too.
It changes frequently but last year I read the Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater and they were so. Good. They were really emotionally gripping and moving and I liked that the characters were all realistically flawed and had distinct personalities without being flat.
The Last Unicorn, i love the characters and the interpretations i was able to find in it, the surrealness, the whimsy (though the tree scene is still a bit much ^^; ) and the seriousness in it, it's also a story that grew with me as i saw it as a cartoon first then found the novel as a teen
Goosebumps for book because of nostalgia I guess. And series buffy the vampire slayer because it was epic and it helped me deal with being gay when it wasn't really talked about back then.
I love the Stormlight Archives series by Brandon Sanderson, such a rich world with multilayered characters. And I devour pretty much anything by the German author Markus Heitz, my fav from him are Ritus / Sanktum. I don't know if those are translated though .
Artemis Fowl. I love the mix of real-world science and fantasy, and the writing itself is wonderful.
Either that or The Song of Achilles. Heartbreaking and beautiful, the words flow so well and the story is crafted amazingly.
The Chronicles of Narnia. It was one of my first introductions to the fantasy genre, and the range of environments, characters, creatures, and stories were very exciting to my imagination as a child. I still love Narnia!
Wings of fire. It encapsulates dragons, magic, combat, gripping story, tragedy, love, friendship, DRAGONS, great emotion, amazing writing, and it tells the story in a way you can familiarize with. And it is written in a way that connects with real world problems. Overall 100 out of 10 series.
I haven't ready many books in YEARS but when I think of a favorite the first series that always comes to mind is the Jackie Faber series by L.A. Meyer. Those books meant so much to me as a teen and I read them over and over and over again.
I ADORE Frieren, Beastars, pretty much anything by Tatsuki Fujimoto (Chainsawman, Goodbye Eri, Fire Punch), One Piece. The Twisted Disney Tales series is also another series I love that’s not manga.
The Humans by Matt Haig, it's an alien's perspective of Earth, and The 100 Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window And Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson, which is hard to explain lol.
A Court of Thorns and Roses so far, but think it's shifting to Throne of Glass, I haven't finished it yet though. Such a badass FMC, love the found family stuff and also these books make you want to cry, laugh and throw them across a room all within one chapter. So good 💜
Book series would be Robin Hobb's books, they are a few shorter series going over one larger narrative (except the Soldier Son books), favourite of those is probably the original Farseer Trilogy...but it's hard to differentiate the lot!
Favourite graphic novel is Bone...everyone should read it!
Scythe but Neil Shusterman.
It's a future-based book set in years after 2040. We, as humans, have conquered everything. Even death. So to keep from overpopulation, there is this group of people called Scythes who go around and "glean" people. It's a very good book! :)
Ooh 😲 my favorite series is the Duskwalker Brides series by Opal Reyne. It’s a 8 book series with diverse characters, a great overarching plot and fun world building. It’s not for everyone and is definitely an 18+ series due to darker themes and spice… but I love it for the fantasy & the creatures.
I won't say that this series is my favorite because my favorite is in Arabic, but I definitely like the wingfeather saga by Andrew Peterson, and the cartoon that's based off of it is just the cherry on top, I know it's meant for children, but hey, it's actually that good.
The '13 days of midnight' trilogy by Leo Hunt. As not much of a reader it really pulled me into the story with the character designs and creepy supernatural setting, really got my imagination going. Highly recommend
The Old Kingdom by Garth Nix because I thoroughly enjoy the worldbuilding, the magic system, how Death is being handled and a female main character who is relatable but also not. The good, the bad and the ugly all make for a captivating fantasy experience. I can reread these books indefinitely.
It's between Red Rising and The Dresden Files for me. Both have some of my favorite characters in all of fiction, but wildly different worlds and stories with equally excellent storytelling with strong themes.
The Black Jewels series. It started with 3 books but has added more over the years and it's one of those books that has always stuck in my head. I have made an art piece from one of the scenes in one of the original 3. It just really resonated with me.

A book for a good cry during: Neverending Story.
Pretty much the same reasons too.
Fave series: The Dark Tower
My favorite show is probably too hard to pick. Love so many things!
It's a post apocalyptic robot western that examines what the point of life is and has a great redemption arc throughout.
Either that or The Song of Achilles. Heartbreaking and beautiful, the words flow so well and the story is crafted amazingly.
