Why the fuck would they make him interview for his old job, this annoys me

Briere said Shaw will not return, at Shaw's choosing, saying it would be tough for him to go thru interview for his old job. "If teams reach out to us, he's going to get a really positive review from our end."

I think this is normal practice. If you don't have him interview with Tocchet I think you are undermining his authority. If that was the reason he was out, I would say they made the right choice. He was on the staff that was awful for 3 years. He may have had limited interim success, but....

The staff was awful? lol Rocky Thompson was awful, that’s wholly unrelated to Shaw’a performance.

As a whole, they were a bad team and I think that all of the coaches deserve the blame, not just Rocky. I think you win together and lose together. I understand that you were fond of him. I do not mean to be negative.

It seems like Shaw has helped the defensemen. I like him! Though it would be odd to bring in a high-profile coach (I know opinions vary) and saddle him with an assistant coach he doesn’t know.

And the team hasn’t been covered in glory the past few years. It seems Shaw gets all credit and no blame.

I agree. You have to let Tocchet pick. He is a high-profile hire even if some of the fan base does not think so. Adams award winner. I know people are saying " What else has he done?", but I think that award is recent and deserves more praise.I liked Shaw too, but I think you have to earn your role.
