Love this. Did folks see the transformation of Kyrsten Sinema? They don't appear to want to make a positive difference! It's about furthering their interests by leveraging hate and fear. The system is interesting.
Tons of good (maybe personal) reasons why someone might want to be elected (gun violence, poverty, Climate, veterans), but for others: attractive young people, parties, prestige, social media influence, insider trading, wealth. Some are just bold-faced liars. Can we tell who is telling the truth?

I’ll always vote for candidates who have lived a “real life” vs. the silver spooners. The wealthy can’t understand the challenges, it’s just not something they can know. Clinton, Obama & Biden came from the working class. They understood more & worked harder for the people than the Bushes or Trump.
Some candidates explain it themselves ("I saw my community needed a leader..."), and for those that don't, we often assume they have a good reason if we like them, and a nefarious reason if we don't.
I was referencing Stranger in a Strange Land (and the "got milk" ads) well before Musk made clear that he didn't get it (but still stole the word). He only thinks he likes it because Mike was the "man from Mars" and his own name has made him obsessed with Mars.
Well, if it's accruing culture, that's because of a seal breach. Then you gotta toss out the whole unit, which upsets the clown because freshly-milked Sprite is their most popular carbonated beverage, so you gotta let them scrape your thigh meat and toss it to the creature so you learn your lesson.
The political classes are vastly populated by people who see power as a birth right, and not a means to represent the will of the public. Silver spoon charlatans who've never struggled a day in their life. Representatives genuinely motivated by the concept of democracy are few and far between.
Because I am exhausted seeing the people with the power do nothing but either repeat the same cycle or do things to hurt the American people all because of what their billionaire donors want (and thats true on both sides). I want to break the cycle and do what the people want.
Traditionally, there's two reasons people pursue political careers in this country: for money and social clout (liberals), and to exploit and abuse people (conservatives). Generations of cultural bootstraps brainrot has done apparently-irreparable damage to the welfare of the commonwealth.
