Made General Tso’s chicken last week. We might be part of a hivemind. Had it in NY as a kid. I was a fat little fckr so hard to know if it was genuinely amazing then. The good stuff is pure sugar I’d imagine.

mate SO MUCH FUCKING SUGAR in general tso sauce. no wonder chinese food tastes so amazing. i thought it was a bit imbalanced on friday night so cooking down as a glaze was a good way to go. should have done on BBQ but couldn't be arsed with the faff today.

will snap my recipe and post. it's from carl clarke's chicken cookbook. he founded chick'n'sours which was the very best buttermilk brined fried chicken in london. sadly just on deliveroo now. the cheeky fecker didn't include any of his restaurant recipes but it's still packed with goodies.
it's not just the chicken their sides are so on point. the watermelon salad an all timer, green miso slaw, bashed cucumbers. you can get a whole chicken deep fry in store as well as endless variations on the thighs. korean style popular here. very crunchy with a sweet sticky chilli sauce.
