Awful!! When PP says he'll give a 15% income tax cut to middle income Canadians, there will be lots of services we rely on that will be cut to make up for that. This might just be one of them on the federal level. This could be in preparation of that.

On a similar note...
The recipients of various Alberta programs are forced into registering and receiving their CPP benefits asap at age 60, which 1) gets clawed back from Prov benefits and 2) reduces the CPP benifit by approx 30% for life.
The Poors can't win in Alberta.

Many years ago in my first clinical rotation I was offered this advice by a wise mentor:
“When faced with a difficult situation, make every medical decision as if your patient was your mom and you’ll never go wrong”.

It’s unfortunate that so many politicians never learned that lesson.

This isn’t getting enough media coverage. Thank you for sharing. I needed the money- its the difference between being able to stay in the apartment I’ve lived in for over a decade and trying to find somewhere to rent that is accessible and affordable while on disability. Pretty much impossible.
