It might have something to do with the fact that R’s have multiple massive media companies and propaganda machines out there doing the work to change public opinion and D’s have nothing even remotely comparable

The Dems DO have media, but they haven’t used it like the far right. The GOP’s media is always pushing relentlessly rightward. After a win? They keep pushing. After a loss? They re-target, and go right back to pushing. Dem media is like the party: Tailing perceived popular sentiment

There’s *Liberal* media for sure, but they are mostly anti-Democrats, constantly criticising Dem politicians and relentlessly both-sidesing conflicts, or in some cases (NYT) doing pro-Trump propaganda.

Trump says tons of popular things. He'll end inflation, fix the border, cut taxes, subsidize family carers, make IVF free, put criminals in jail, and keep the US out of war. These are all very popular positions.

The trick he uses to do all of this is that he lies.

Conservatives went out of their way to undermine Trump in fact, but when he delivered them a win against their decades long enemy Hillary Clinton and enabled the appeal of Roe, the whole party shut up and deferred to him like "Fine, alright, you know best."

Trump doesn't need focus groups because he has a politician's instinct for what's popular on the campaign trail. E.g, when he realized Proj 2025 was toxic he dumped it. (He lied, of course.)

Democrats with a toxic platform on their hands would run a dozen focus groups and then not dump it anyway.

Greatest past blunders: Ran away from Affordable Care Act instead of selling it. Same with Bidenomics. Two great accomplishments kept by the less than clever. Dems at arm's length. Chronic.
