I am sorry, but you are wrong about this. Because of our first-past-the-post system (and likely other factors), third parties are NEVER viable for President.
See attached the history of Presidential votes; note the lack of third-parties.
The best way towards it is MOVING THE DEMOCRATS TO THE LEFT.
Making a leftist third party will simply ensure that the Democrats NEVER win and the Republicans ALWAYS win.
It is far, far, FAR easier to change the overall tenor of one of the Big Two parties than to create a viable third party in a system profoundly resistant to third parties.
Seriously. Remove the idea from your head that a leftist third party is a good way to push America to the left. That is your intent, and it is a GOOD intent, but if you captured 10% or even maybe 5% of the vote from the Democrats, the Democrats would never, ever win. WHICH MEANS THE REPUBLICANS WIN.
Independents are growing, which might be a place for those who don’t want to be in either party. I agree a farther left party is a spoiler - see Nader & the Green Party, which here in the US is a do nothing grift funded by the right. Democrats are moving left on some issues, not fast enough for some.
I don't like it either! I'd like to vote for a candidate who fits my leftist positions and goals.
But we aren't going to get to that point with third parties. We can only get to that point through pushing the Democrats leftwards, or replacing the entire system of government (which is FAR harder).
We don't need more parties to separate people. We need unity. We need people to all agree on fundamental rights like water, food shelter, health, and the pursuit of happiness. Anything else is agenda. tired of fear mongering war lovers.
Stop with the “both sides” crap. Dems are definitely better than the GOP. Not perfect, not great, but much better for the country and for individuals. And one of these groups WILL BE IN CONTROL. The choice makes a difference.

And the best way towards it is forming a third party that actually represents us.

If anything, we should want a right-wing third party to form, as it will hurt the Repubs' chances.
Us leftists? We should push the Dems left.

Biden and Obama deported millions of people and precided over enormous inflation. A lot of americans aren't feeling "happy" right now.
Also, the leftists who decided that voting for genocide was too much arent the warmongers here.
Meantime we have to act now to try to contain the damage he’s already done and will do.
how many times do these Democrats have to vote for Trump’s picks and policies, before people realize they are not on our side ?
We can do better. It’s long past time. Stop voting Blue and let’s get some actual healthcare and human rights back
