Weill considering the planet only has about a billion years left of habitability before the sun expands and makes life on Earth impossible, I would say the amount of time it takes to process in the toxins and heat put into the atmosphere is pretty important.

Reminds me of an old George Carlin rant about how Mother Earth isn’t afraid of us. He said she would shake us off like fleas off a dog if we didn’t change our ways. When I think of all the fires, floods, quakes, tsunamis, and droughts, I think Mother Nature has about reached her limit with us! 😳
She's so selfless and giving and full of love. I wish more people would give her human qualities so they could learn to deeply feel for her. I think a lot of people just see her as a thing that we live on and not the single source of life like she truly is.
The earth may not *need* us, but it has absolutely benefited historically from stewardship by human beings. Indigenous communities have always known this. What earth doesn't need is extraction/disaster capitalism, laying waste to everything in sight.
Wrong. Indigenous communities have been stewarding and protecting the planet for thousands of years. We need to end the systems that prevent them from doing that. Capitalism and colonialism and white supremacy have abused their residency, and they are what we have to evict.
That is a separate issue. We are from "here" but until those that abuse the earth realise that the earth does not actually need us to exist our continued residency will become more unlikely.
