I have lots of thoughts on this: yes the Left has split but it’s more that progressives continued to be more and more progressive and dems just believe in governance, juxtaposed to Rep. as they (for the last 20 years or so) believed in ZERO governance. This made todays dems yesterdays Reaganites
Been saying for years that the right only cares about winning at all costs, and the left cares about so much that we pigeon ourselves into progressive bubbles, where if you don't feel like me, you're "wrong," rather than focusing on what we have in common and how we can move forward together. 1/2
Some judge an 80 year old Dem or a progressive from the 90s for not doing "enough" by todays standards w/o appreciating the progressive acts of courage in their time & being glad we have older allies who try. Don't know how to fix it, but it starts with open communication, not in-fighting. 2/2
