i think this might be the primary affective misunderstanding between "ai is a grift" and "ai is neutral / ai critics are grifters" groups

and to be kinder to people in the latter camp, if you think "make my life better" is the primary claim of AI, then these actually _are_ the same problem! the former is just a subset of the latter
