That is legitimately scary. There are too many narcissists running around ruining things already. We don't need to add a bunch of people also thinking they're 21st century Jesus to the mix.

Whatever small productivity boost they offer isn’t worth this.
This is what happens when actual religiosity declines and people stop participating in organized religion. It doesn’t actually lead to folks abandoning the concept religion. It just motivates them to invent a substitute.
People seek purpose and meaning in their life. That’s why they gravitate towards spirituality and religion. Now that more people are becoming less religious and spiritual, they still seek those things just in other places.
A conspiracy theory I enjoy is that AI is exceptional as an ego boosting tool, and that while AI is pretty useful, it is primarily being used as an ego massaging tool.
Almost like cyberpsychosis when you interact with an AI too much.

How long will it be before someone is on trial for murdering people and the defence will say they did so because AI told them to do it.
