This defensive assumption is exactly my point. Do you not have the capacity to care about the issues that directly impact you and your love ones, as well as others? Why should it be one or the other? Why assume that me caring about genocide means that I don’t also care about the suffering of others?
I care about what is happening in Gaza, but it is far down my list of priorities, because there is more horrible shit happening right here in my shithole country than my brain can possibly handle. If Trump would have lost, Gaza would be my number one political concern right now.
