This article was clearly written by someone who doesn’t understand much about American football. NFL is no doubt a higher level of competition, but college football operates much differently than a lower soccer tier and the top college coaches often make more money than NFL coaches.
Maybe the worst article i’ve read on The Athletic. @eliasburke.bsky.social you need to visit a top college town on game days if you truly believe it compares to low tier soccer. I get you have a European perspective but make that comparison after a Saturday in Columbia SC, College Station etc.
