An Astros fan says he ripped a foul ball from Mike Trout’s glove to protect his child.
“I didn’t realize it was a play. It was coming at my son’s face. I just reached out.”
After the game, Trout met with the father and son ❤️

He is trying to save face in the see of hate-orade
The kid did nothing wrong, and he gets a cool story, but he's also getting absolutely then worst lesson at a time where I doubt he or his family have much to worry about... especially since the dad is absolutely comfortable lying in spite of video evidence.
he kept pulling at the ball inside the glove. video doesn't lie
The ball was already in the fielders glove and you could see the fan fighting to get the ball out of the glove.
Adding a lie to what you did doesn’t help your case!

Trout caught the ball.
Fan pulled the ball out.
Fan tells lie.
Indeed, in such fear for his kid that he reacted after the ball was caught by the only qualified person in the area to actually make an attempt on the ball.
And just as clearly, it was nowhere near the kid’s face; nor was Dad at all concerned for his welfare or safety.
Dude’s just a straight up liar.
