I finished my final way too quick so I have nothing to do for 2 hours, I wanna ramble about some stuff for improvement after seeing @eleqilix.bsky.social improve from like d7-8 to d4 in two months or @santanarainfall.bsky.social and their group improving as fast as they have

Anyways, enough of me rambling. The 1st thing that I genuinely think fucks with improvement. Caring about winning
I'm sure some people just rolled their eyes but genuinely I think it fucks over so many people. When you care about the win you do something slightly different which
You play to not lose compared to improvement. It seems small, but playing to not lose snaps you out of flow and makes it so you rarely want to take risks. If you want to improve I think the first step is to drop the desire to win. You'll win eventually, trust in that. Don't worry about
The 2nd thing in my eyes and what often happens before a massive surge of improvement. Play what you enjoy
Playing weapons you enjoy are how you actually feel like playing and improving. Just because some other people player clicks with this weapon doesn't mean you need to copy em
Also personal examples, I know of someone who liked playing swig and I tried to push them to do it. They forced themselves to play weapons for the win instead of what they enjoy. I don't think they've improved their

without those friends (who I found via
if you can find a team that is willing to scrim div 5-6 and a higher team that is willing to scrim you and take losses in stride and improve off them you can get closer and closer faster then most people expect I feel
this isn't to say to leave your team behind, but if you're ready to do so or are a FA, genuinely consider it (even if it may take a while)
also just scrim up a bit whenever you're ready
It's certainly helped strengthen me & shows me that I still have room to grow. Hoping that one day I can keep up pace & have a student surpassing the teacher moment.
That day is not today, though.
