Had a similar experience with a bull elk.
You learn to pay attention.
And surprisingly rare sighting. Lived in western Canada my whole life and I've only seen 3 or 4 moose 🫎 in all.
We both stopped and looked at each other. She looked at my baby. Instinctively, I let out a low growl. Her ears pricked up, and she turned and headed the other way
