If memory serves, arguments against the f35 were that it was built for hot & dry conditions of ME, not cold Arctic. Also they were around $80 million each. Not many countries were using it, and replacement parts & repair would be expensive and not easily done. So they weren’t really useful for us.
How does anyone think that's a good idea. I know what I do when a salesman attempts that tactic, I walk away and NEVER do business with them again in fact I make a point of using their competition instead.
This practice of labeling people with different political views than one has as being "non-patriotic" is getting old. I can't believe that all Canadians are not patriotic, even the ones whose political view differ from those of Scott Taylor. And I'm sure every one of them resents Trump's badgering.
How could Canada refuses to buy a plane only the US can create the flight plans for any mission, being totally dependent on the US and their very stable genius commander in chief ?
It all comes down to who is going to fight China. It will not be Canada or Europe. So, they can easily do without the F-35 and go for a more affordable option and tell MAGA to eff themselves. Typhoon is a good option.
