I bought my sister this book, she has a male dog, also from Romania, and looks just like Sophie. She's struggling with him behaviouraly. On top of making her cry numerous times, the book helped make sense of her situation. Thank you.

Got this as a Christmas present. A fabulous read. Extra bonus was Si living in Portsoy! Reminded me of childhood holidays and family who lived on the Durn Road. Sophie is the star! Great to see her progress.

I've just finished listening to the audio version. Bravo for both story and narration. I've talked to our white dog named Brownie about Sophie, and he sends quivers. (Brownie is also a fearful dog, although not a rescue.) Here's a pic for the tax.

Beautifully written, moving and honest account of Sophie's first year. I have followed Sophie daily from her arrival, but the book gives greater insight into the patience and love invested into helping Sophie overcome her extreme timidity. A great read.
