Spot on. The hospital beds crisis didn't exist when councils were properly funded and able to provide residential and home care services in house.

The care sector is already in crisis and part of the nhs crisis. There’s are around 300 needless A&E deaths a week and this is the priority for this government.

And the only way to fix this is by fixing social care, reducing bed pressures in the hospital and hence reducing A&E waits.

Agreed. I’m aware of 3 older people who waited months for community care packages after the care was assessed as essential. Staff shortages. Blocking carers from coming here is utterly stupid.
