Trade and tariff policy is actually one of the very few areas the EU is really good at. I think this is the right approach from them for now. The US economy is already sitting in boiling water with the tariffs on China.

The US wants to impose its polluting and anti-social rules on the rest of the world. This, apart from import tariffs, is reason enough to cut ties with the US. Therefore, it is good not to seek confrontation, but to change course structurally, step by step and with a long-term focus.

Als tariffs een belasting is voor de kopende partij, dan is het niet logisch om als Nederland en Europa haar inwoners te verwennen met deze belasting? Dan snijdt het mes opeens aan 2 kanten, minder afzet in Amerika en duurdere spullen hier. Is één uitdaging niet meer dan genoeg?
