Using Switch 2 Game-Key Cards is pure business for some publishers. From a game preservation view, these things should never exist. People defending it with "you can resell them" is more than worrying to us. People even claiming we would be ok with empty cards is baffling.

unlike physical media, where manufacturers do not actually care about making the tech work longer than they believe most people will use it, which is like 20 years
NES roms will all be unusable before most of our generation is dead.
Temporary ownership is still ownership.
Otherwise I would still rather have the game on the card every single time
With digital, I am forced to buy it directly from the first party storefront, likely for full price. With physical, I can buy it on an open market with much more price competition and buy it used, or sell it myself.
That is absolutely still better than buying digital even tho not everything we want.
I doubt it will work that simply, but it could outlast servers.
