Our study last year showed that although the UK has suitable climate and habitat for the yellow-legged hornet, effective action has so far prevented this voracious predator of pollinators from establishing here.

Got home to an empty house last night to find notes from my wife everywhere warning me off a hornet that had come indoors. She'd been unable to relocate it before leaving. Later on her return she put on her slippers and quickly found out the hard way where the (European) hornet was!
