Sure we #MAGA Republicans do! But that was different. When “terrorist” was applied to our ingroup (simply because of some domestic terror), we wore it as a badge of honor to drain it of force & meaning. Now we’re applying it to those we outgroup, despite of its meaning, to justify exerting force.
Great question! See, if we were to accept that one could associate “terrorist” with our own, preferred faith, it would diminish our ability as #MAGA Republicans to vilify all Muslims, the overwhelming majority of whom are good, peaceful, law-abiding people, by rhetorically linking terror to Islam.
If you’re accusing me, a #MAGA Republican, of wanting a christofascist state, you’re way off-base. All we want is for President Trump to institute an ultranationalist state with him as a sole center of power, & to suppresses individuality & all opposition to our views, which happen to be Christian.
Sure. As are the global rise of right-wing populism, the corruption of democracies into authoritarian states, the functioning of nascent totalitarian regimes, & the role of bigotries in the voting patterns of non-college-educated white men. But what does that have to do with me, a #MAGA Republican?
