I think the the thing that most scares me is I am on disability. I survive only because of that. I have a disease that left untreated I would be un-alive. I earn so little a month my medical bills are wavied or I pay less. I can't earn anymore through art or work because I would lose my coverage. - ThreadSky

The situation feels dire because of the idea of medicaid and other programs being gutted, or worse. To me it's not if I will die but when. I mean we all deal with that everyday. Thanks to my disease I already died once.

Because of this you think I would spend all my free time making art and trying to leave my mark. But the opposite is true I hardly draw besides some little projects. I find I spend my time watching shows I like, spending time with my family trying to leave positive memories.

You know some people might say my life isn't worth anything and I am a parasite on the American system. I don't have a counter to that. I am just trying to live what time I have left. I can't afford the medicine I need. I relay on medicaid I an I am not the only one. Our medical system is wrecked.

I’m also really worried about benefits being slashed and my biggest hope right now is that Congress won’t be able to pass the budget in March without the votes of Democrats, who do not support cuts to Medicaid and Medicare.

If people out there really aspire to be more selfish than cats, then they are losing a core component of what it means to be human.

I also worry that others view me as a parasite due to my illness. I always remind myself that one of the most selfish creatures known to humankind - the housecat - is known to help others when they understand they are sick or disabled.
