When you all started talking about Loretta Lynch, I kept thinking, 🤔 "Loretta Lynn, country music great, she wasn't a lawyer". Great discussion. Googled 16th Ave Church while listening. Tragic. Looking forward to reading Joyce's much needed book.
It fortifies the spine to see kind people who are unable to be public intellectuals during the American Maoist Cultural Revolution.
Civics and history have been gutted in public schools since Brown v Board, so we need these new ways of educating the public.
I watched live and didn't know much of anything about Joyce other than TV appearances so really enjoyed that. Also didn't know here Father-in-Law was a Judge and killed by a mail bomb.
I’m watching the legal system wavering on the challenges of the Trump Administration. I feel like judges, like Ho and the Supreme Court conservatives, are waiting to reverse everything the district judges rule. Justice Roberts this is ALL ON YOU!
Always enjoy listening to your legal analysis and discussions on various pods, MSNBC, etc. You are such a grounded voice of sanity and calmness. Hope you don’t become a target of this vindictive regime.
I love you and Mary on your podcast. And I loved your Substack with Joyce. Please do more! It is so nice to see and hear the three of you in a more natural setting. And I absolutely love it when you all get lighthearted and a bit giggly. It makes me think there is hope in this crazy world.
This was great! Learned a lot of important things and the informality and flow made it such a pleasure.
Learning things from people you can see are real people with real lives apart from TV brings an added level of trust if that makes sense….
Thanks to you both..
It's lovely to hang out with you all but it does concern me that all the good people are concentrated on substack instead of building an independent online infrastructure that no owner can take away. It wouldn't take much for an Elon Musk to buy MSNBC just to destroy it and what then?
