My Uber driver to the airport today was shocked that I'm 71. I will never tire of someone saying I don't look and/or act 71. It's less about looks and more that I'm glad I still have youthful energy.

My favorite walking partner was random guy I met at the track. He was 83yo! I was in my 30s and had no idea. Would have said mid-50s. He was so on top of current affairs, politics, music, sports, everything really. He had such a youthful energy to him and he would push me to pick up the pace.
He's still around, reread that and it sounded like he had passed. Nope, just moved back to Australia where he continues to hike more than I do. People who love to learn and experience new things have the most youthful spirits. Sounds like you are one of them.
Mostly because we don't do real work anymore. At 71, you just missed the Vietnam era and benefited from not having to do physical labor. You should last into your 90s.
Or else your Uber was trolling for a good tip😁jes’ kiddin’! Only a couple of years behind you and I’m just jealous no one has low-balled my age lately.
It also says a lot about your uber driver. 71 is not exactly 120 is it? How unterested and brainless are people when you say 70 you immediate are old withered? Social media had a lot to do with that. Keep on flabbergasting people.🥳
I bet your Uber driver was from another country. My South American language companions sometimes express disbelief in my age. What it shows is that in many parts of the world, people are outdoors a lot without sunblock. They expect old people to be as dried and wrinkled as a raisin.
I have experienced similar. 😁 People see not all my hair is white, or i don't have a ton of wrinkles and assume I'm much younger. I love the ego boost, some days, and others, I feel slighted for the lack of respect I have earned as a senior citizen. It's two-edged.
We were selling GS cookies and we had an older customer which my dtr was complimenting bc this lady had the most amazing energy and style. She said her age- 81 and I was like You do not look 81 and she responded with “I know Darling!” Lol. Love her. Best customer of the season!!
When I was 18, I hung out with a late 20's group and they thought I was their age. I always figured when I was 70, people would think I was 40-something. Almost there!
I'll let you know.... haha
Chronological age doesn't reflect the soul's age. It doesn't reflect wisdom, experience, or emotional intelligence. Chronological age only reflects the physical body. If you want to truly see someone's age, look into their eyes. Ask what they know. Observe with your heart, not just your eyes.
isn't that the best feeling when they don't believe you? turning 74 in a couple weeks & am proud as hell to have survived this world & it really does make me smile big when strangers are surprised...
Same here. I'm 72 and my husband is 76. Always makes me feel good when someone says we don't look or act 72 and 76. Keeping active and continue learning everyday. Just bought a new RV and hope to see much more of this country before we are through.
I like this. I'll be 71 in October. I get similar comments, which makes me smile because my mirror tells me my age. But , it is about the energy . My brain , my soul think they are at some younger age . Not young , just vaguely 40s-50s maybe.

You can look your age And be curious.
"70? Really? You don't look that old!!"
Then I remember doing it to make old farts feel good when I was younger!
😂😃🤣🤪
Just sayin'....
As in, no the stripper doesn’t really like you.
I'll let you know.... haha
