I don’t want to have to use a fucking code word when I talk to my parents as they get older so they know I’m not scamming them, but that sure feels like where we’re headed. Sure wish someone would figure out a way to keep that from happening.
A part of me thinks it's likely we will RETVRN to some kind of system the only acceptable, trustable format for interpersonal relations (business, legal, and otherwise) will be firm handshakes in person
It sort of feels like we're just letting companies, in the open, develop something akin to a device that lets you print legal tender complete with all of the anti-counterfeiter marks included
Not in a "it's going to be so profitable!" sense, but in a "this is strictly to enable crime" way.
Admittedly, I guess we should have all seen this trend coming when we decided it was a good idea to just let guns flood into every nook and cranny of America. Your tax dollars go towards nothing but cops, to stop crime, and government, to enable crime.
No one’ll know better than you when you need to take that step with your parents. In my life, I’ve already set up codes with my folks and my MiL. Anyone who isn’t sure their parents could spot a voicefake scam should do the same and then check now and then to make sure you both remember the code.

No idea if that has merit. But it's a fun thing to root for.
