Frankly, I feel this way about MDs and JDs sometimes because their training is primarily technical (with good reason!) and doesn't really lend itself to abstract research. Physicians are taught (reasonably!) to look for expedient solutions rather than creative ones so aren't always great theorists

It sounds to me like the shooter hasn’t had real employment since 2022 and the security company he owns with his wife is maybe a bit of a mirage or a cosplay. His wife is the breadwinner and his company maybe costs more than it makes, and they have an image to uphold? That’s a recipe for something.

phd was from a diploma mill, he was a former 7-11 store manager working weird odd jobs while failing to start a private security company, he was living with roommates to be “closer to work.” good chance personal and financial failures triggered it imo
