For a while, our local ice cream scammer would park his truck outside the school every afternoon! He’d charge two extra dollars for every credit transaction, and it was already overpriced! He’d sometimes ask kids if they wanted cotton candy too! And then charge the parent! Diabolical. Loathed!

So me and this other parent just started bringing cheapo ice lollies with us to pickup and giving them out to the kids to undercut the guy. The principal eventually asked him to scram, but I suspect he’ll be back once the weather warms up.

This is a much better idea, I wonder if I should scheme with some other parents too. We had a rule: only Fridays. But even that was too often, and still caused meltdowns throughout the week. On Wednesday, kiddo brought her own money!! 😫😫😫

It’s quite literally predatory I hate it! Ours also charges extra for debit or credit, which would be fine if it wasn’t already way overpriced to begin with, and with extremely questionable sanitary practices to boot. And he parks just down the street from the school where all the kids play

when i was in kindergarten i had Mcdonalds for lunch and then later started showing flu symptoms. i was convinced the mcdonalds made me sick and didn't eat there again until i was a teenager, so maybe you'll be so lucky lol

I very much hope 😂 sadly this is not the first time an ice cream truck slushy has given her the bubble-guts, just the worst. Maybe she’ll stay away a little longer this time.
