Yes certainly (unless different area or specialty)! And also double work for them (us, in my case) to receive and think about it twice! The odd time we get A&G through without the option to convert, but I'd explicitly point that out in my response.

Yes. I always append something along the lines of “ if you feel this needs a referral to be seen please consider this as the referral” TBH local consultant colleagues are generally quite good at doing this.

I often leave the wording quite open so that it works for a referral too, it seems some specialties manage it differently.

Would be good if they (the specialties) all agreed how they would handle this, especially as the use of A&G increases.

They should just convert this automatically to a referral- locally that’s what happens- I think the functionality to do it is universal isn’t it?
