my *real* pessimistic view is the experiment is pretty much over. SCOTUS took more power for themselves only to be partisan about it. Congress is crippled and just became an arm of the whoever is at the executive. I dont see either side trying to give themselves power back regardless of party.

From here is if we go quietly into the night or we turn into pirates fighting out in the sea. americans simply dont have the stomach for conflict in front of them unless young people turn up the temp. If dems come to power, they aint fixing shit. possible dems become AS partisan as MAGA.

What will need to happen (I think) is all the (former) US allies collectively saying that the US is effectively no longer a trusted ally.
