I'm a huge fan of esoteric spoilers, saying something that's technically a spoiler for a work of fiction but lacking all the context that would make it meaningfully spoil anything

That’s like the bare minimum of acceptable spoilers. My favourite kind are those which are true, but you expect them to have an entirely different meaning at first. Only at the end when you look back does it make sense…
I write those. I don't want to ruin the experience that folks might not know what type of media they are experiencing the fiction in and that finding out its a TV show is going to be a huge reveal.
This is why I loved "Agatha All Along" so much. The writers put almost everything right out there from the get go, but it's missing the key to unravel the mystery box. I guessed some of it but was surprised by so much more.
I do a form of this, where someone will ask me to explain what happened in a piece of media to them, and I'll make my explanation so bad and ridiculous, that it's only coherent if you've seen the work in its entirety.
