"The poll found that 43% of respondents believe the UK should strengthen its trade relationships with the EU, while only 14% support improving relations with the US with the aim of convincing Trump to remove the tariffs."

Orange Turd has proven himself to be a thief, a fraud, and at best, an unreliable and inconsistent business partner.
You shake his hand, you lose fingers.
America is only open for business with despots and dictators.
It will take a generation to recover from this unnecessary self-injury.
June 14th is coming up soon...the day Lord Cockfield put forward his white paper to the European council with a novel idea, called the Single Market. 40 Years ago.
one of britains finest achievements in Europe.
Maybe the english might consider a "cockfield day"?
Ministers have no idea of their own history. All they peddle is nostalgia for a time (circa 1940-46 & the 1950’s) which is long gone & thankfully won’t be coming back.
Yes. Well, my school history lessons were some 45+ years ago. I was fortunate to have had an inspiring history/politics/international relations teacher. He had knowledge, perspective & taught me critical thinking. Many were not so lucky.
Only 43%. That’s depressing. With all the evidence showing that Brexit was a disaster, 57% are still unable to say a closer relationship would be of benefit to UK.
One suspects that Labour’s policy here is also influenced by their fear of Reform, and the assumption that Reform leaning voters will not like closer integration with the EU.
Seem to miss the common sense option which is all of the above, if you can reduce US Tariffs while improving EU relations and add things like India you would be mad not to - Time for the UK to be selfish and have as much as we can not pick one option.
Canadian here.
You don't want to do more of anything with the US at the moment. Don't trust anything that might come of it.
The number of people in oversight types of committees that have been fired and replaced with total incompetent individuals is amazing.
Canada boycotts US products.
I’m not doubting these figures, but the question I have is this. Why are they as they are, when Reform are flying so high in the polls? Surely voters know that if they vote Farridge, all they’ll get is massive US influence, little to do with the EU, and the probability of leaving the ECHR. Bizarre.

Should be a dull news day.
It's like a bunch of enid blyton "famous 5 go running countries" novels illustrated by disney!
Ireland & UK joined the EEC (EU) at the same time...and it was transformative for both, but, in very different ways....
However, it's so low, because there's 6 options in the whole poll, including BRICS, retaliation on #Felon47, none & don't know.
