Sometimes non-native English speakers will mispronounce "technical debt" as "technical depth", and I think they might be on to something. It's not so much debt as the fact that we build things, complexity piles on, and suddenly we find ourselves out of our depth.

Either way, this is an example of the general English-language rule that ‘we can verb any noun’, and if that annoys people, too bad 😬
