Luther copied prejudices from his earlier Catholic institutional following. Calvin was wrong to be as pessimistic about the abilities behind the call of the spirit of Christ as he was.

And so? Both represented moves away from institution uber alles, and Lutheran MAGA is rare today.

A very bad record at dealing with such issues does not help our dear Roman Catholics' position at all. It sounds a lot to me like a communion these priests shouldn't want. God, at the least, should want the wrong to be made up, as much as possible, by the church. And if the church can't hide....

I know... would they really want to count yourself part of an institution which insists on being a party to keeping it quiet? This is an acid test. If the church cared sanely about these issues, that would be different. But too often, being part of that institution is just an excuse.

Making their religion be about the institution rather than about the spirit of Christ which lived in Jesus is going to be the foundation of a lot of travesty. There's a lot made out of the earthly succession from Peter, but not about the heavenly spirit that God taught Peter to embrace.
