Good read as usual Jack. I agree with you that it is not Hughes’ tendency to let players go without some sort of compensation. That’s why, imo, I think what was reported from Lebrun about what Hughes is telling the teams calling him on Evans and Armia is a bargaining ploy. We’ll soon know if it is

Dvorak is elite for faceoffs and anybody missing the 3rd center with above 50% in Faceoffs. Can't win without faceoffs helping total puck control.
I believe Beck replaces him next year and Kapanen will help. Not sure we can loose both Dvorak and Evans. Dach and Newhook still need help for FO.

Armia is useful to any contender due to skating and size and puck control. All things needed in playoffs. Still useful to habs as well. but...
Savard is useful to any contender. Big D that know positioning and take out the oppositions large forwards are important in playoffs

Pezzetta is a nice guy but he needs a new organization be it with trade or free agent.
Evans viewed to be having career year but many forget it took him till last year to reach 190 lbs. This in turn improved performance. Credit new regime giving him help with diet to get there. Might be a keeper...

Agreed. Still a number 2 centre and a number 1 defensemen on their roster or pipeline away from truly being considered a bonafide playoff threat. Enjoy the progress but stay patient

As much as I like Evans, and I respect what Armia and Dvorak bring, the Habs have to start making room for some of their prospects. I don't think they can properly develop players in Laval if there's a logjam there. One or more of those guys will need to be moved.
