If Washington's size and supposed physical dominance mattered as much as everyone says, why did the Canadiens dominate the third period when the less physical team is supposed to be worn down?
Why couldn't the Caps handle Lane Hutson and Cole Caufield?
The prevailing narrative is not always true.

It's been the Habs v. Bruins story for so many years; Big Bad Bruising Bruins against the Flying Frenchmen full of speed and talent.
Talent, speed and skill usually win out, much to the horror of 95% of the Sportsnet panel firmly ensconced in their cognitive dissonance straitjacket.
Caps are 6'1, 203 on the average
Hits were 42-33 Caps. Ovi led the way with 7. Tom Wilson had 1 hit.
Heinemann paced the Habs with 6. Slaf only had 1 hit.
The difference is the Habs best players are smaller than the Caps best players but they still scored.
Not possible these "facts" could be opinions, is it?

A guy who could beat the crap out of Dave Schultz and play at a Norris Trophy level.
That’s how they played and won the third period
Washington does not have a size advantage and hits were only 42 to 33.
Physicality helped, but wasn’t in the top 5 of reasons why the Capitals won Game 1.
