hello Jack, is the "roughing penalty" still in the rule book ? Plenty of un-necessary roughness like Wilson on Carrier and Ovi on Evans, not called.
What's the point of this rule if they only look for interference ?

I 100% agree. Wasn’t that long ago that a run to the finals was driven by that same style from a D corps the Habs employed. As they get older they will lend themselves to adding players that help them in that regard. Still too young imo.

Nasty/skill combination always been a key part of the great teams. Bobby Clarke, Risebrough/Tremblay/Lambert/Robinson and even Lapointe, Trottier/Gillies/Denis Potvin/Bob Nystrom/Billy Smith all nasty when needed - Mark Messier always teetering on or crossing over the 5 minute major/boarding line.

Great breakdown. I want to see the skill game prevail and I want to see true unicorn players - tough and skilled. Unfortunately some nasty will have to be added - the league won’t change their vision of a championship team. My vision is a skilled, tough team that respects everyone’s health.

I mean, sure, but that was a pretty unique series. I’m watching the Sens/Leafs game and it’s just normal hockey, not a wildly undisciplined bloodbath like the Caps were playing. If they try that next round they’re getting swept, only the Habs get that treatment from the refs
