You think actors at the Oscars have no cultural capital? If Jane Fonda can put on a speech at the SAG Awards, the Oscars can at the minimum keep at the same level of politics it always does, not lessen it.

I wish you were right about impact. I fear it ends up being a sermon to the choir and little else. The last election showed that, near unanimous Hollywood support made little if any impact.
The lack of backlash implies a level of norm that isn't present. I understand your world view relies on something only having any use if it solves everything, but it's more nuanced than "Kamala didn't win so who cares what these guys with one of the largest platforms in the world do"
