FYI games will still get performance boosts without patches on Switch 2. The Japanese website is more specific about the changes and the game's getting patched are games who's target frame rate is changing from 30 to 60. Arms split screen, Bowser's Fury handheld mode, and Pokemon SV's target fps.

Nintendo has also said that Switch 1 games running on Switch 2 will still use the Switch 2's improved specs, so games like the Grezzo Zeldas and the Warriors games will still run significantly better just by having access to significantly more powerful hardware.

The main confusion was about the frame rates, since those weren't listed in the update notes. It makes sense since the framerate is uncapped and variable so they didn't need to fix it, but I could understand why someone would jump to that conclusion

Yeah, part of me doesn't wanna be drip fed free updates (considering you did get a switch 2 on launch, thankfully I have! via their thing where they e-mail you, v. excited to have on / near launch day it'll be great!)

Unrelated, but what if we get a Switch 2 upgrade for Pikmin 4, which adds two new areas? A snow area and a weird pocket dimension to explore with some trippy/psychedelic hues and landscapes with Mario Galaxy like gravity effects. Called the Crystal Canyon and the Pocket of Weirdness.
