I was there for the Rolling Stones concert in 2006, similar situation, 1.5mi people. The sound 150 yards far from the stage was in perfect sync with Mick's singing, amazing work to prevent that kind of delay.

actually it's the opposite. the speakers further away are delayed to match the travel time from the sound coming out of the stage
