Because I had to really drive it home lol.
For example the child that grew up with the PSP and is now in their 20s will more likely feel it's retro than the 40yo that had one.
PS3 came out in 2006 so it's only been 18 years. I mean I know I'm old but I'm not that old 😂
It is interesting that you bring that up though. I remember that the PS2 had a lot of support later in its years due to second world countries. If I'm not mistaken they were still making FIFA games for it well after the ps3

For myself, anything past the previous established generation is retro. Ie. (Ps3, xbox 360, wiiU & 3ds)
To me it's all just Retro Gaming at this point.

NES games are retro because games aren't typically made like that any more, but PS3 games aren't so far removed (technologically) from modern games.
