Probably the end of Super Metroid - from half way through Tourain where the giant baby metroid shows up to the end of the game. 13 year old me's mind was blown back in 1995, I never thought a video game could ever tell a story so perfectly with so few words.
The way the cutscene just ENDS and the gameplay starts blew my mind. π€― Some games like Ninja Gaiden had between stage still pictures, Super Metroid had in-game events, PlayStation had FMV with loading times... but I'd never seen anything like this.
OOT is a great one. But I loved the different battle sequences during Twilight Princessβ final moments. You have zant, puppet Zelda, beast ganon, ganondorf on a horse, and then the ultimate final battle with ganon. I could play that game over and over forever
A) finding out about Cloud's true self in Final Fantasy 7, which shatters your perception of him up until then, and
B) leaving the Temple of Time after becoming adult Link in Ocarina of Time, then seeing the once lively marketplace in utter ruins and overrun by ReDead
The is my first best moment in gaming and I still remember it clearly. How they introduce the final boss Ganon was/is perfect! This is how you do final bosses.
