Unless Democrats can promise genuine transformative change (and not just a return to a broken status quo), they will continue to lose elections.
Trump is awful. But it is not enough just to be the alternative. There must be a real vision. I am not seeing it yet.

Also: Voting should be mandatory. You don't want to vote for someone, don't fill in the bubble.
Get rid of the slavery exception.
Add the ERA
Amend to note that all people are equal. period.

Counter proposal: rank-choice voting. We like direct representation too much to give it up, and RCV is easier to implement politically and legally.

The Democratic Party of Nevada used RCV for the primary in 2020 when Bernie won the state. It was easy-peasy, and it shows that it allows non-traditional candidates to win.

Nevada had Democratic caucuses in 2020, but your point stands! People can vote for the candidate their hearts yearn for, and then a more pragmatic 2nd choice.

They may have been caucuses, true, but the in-person voting was conducted by RCV, at least in Clark County where I participated.

I like that everyone didn't have to show up at the same time as in Iowa. Did party officials do the counting rather than county and state employees?
