Additionally, US crude is light. Where as the crude from the likes of the Canadian oil sands is heavy. As is the case for Venezuelan and Russian crude. Our refineries are designed to use a mix of light-heavy crudes. So there is no way we can produce enough refined fuel without importing heavy crude.

I’m from the USA and am an immigrant living in Mexico. If someone like me doesn’t have papers here, I’m fairly sure they don’t work for a living. It’s not difficult to live here legally unless you don’t have enough monthly cash. They are not the ones driving up prices here; it’s the rich w papers.

They'll get those products from elsewhere. The things they get from us can easily be found elsewhere. So therefore, tariffs won't affect them as much as tariffs will affect the American people.

Well yeah, that's how tariff wars work. You raise, I raise. In the case of US vs China it's really stupid because China imports a lot less from US than US from China. Bit more balanced in case of Mexico and Canada as more integrated. But in the end it's you and I who pay.
