The ACA was the ONLY thing that allowed me to work for myself and start my small business. Without ACA I would have had to get a job where I could get insurance for myself and my daughter. I couldn't get insurance on my own because I had had marital counseling.They could deny for any reason.
In my case they considered my marital counseling with my then ex to be a deal breaker. Any type of counseling really. They looked at it as something they might have to pay for going forward and didn't want to and before ACA, didn't have to.
I’d taken Prozac for 6-8mos and even though you have to go through your complete medical history 87 times each ER visit (to this day, with EMRs) they remembered that. It was enough to deny me individual coverage.
Healthcare or not, personally I wish he had waited 20 years to run for president because look at what happened. We weren't ready. Was it worth it? (of course we should have been ready).

I was able to have a baby because of this. (Does everyone remember that before the ACA insurance companies weren't required to include maternity care? Like, at all?)

I am one of these lucky people and it has saved my life. In the years following I discovered I have a rare disease which has meant several difficult and expensive surgeries. I could never have had these if it were not for the ACA Act. I am so grateful and worry what I will do if it is taken away.

In Australia we pay a 1.5% medicare levy from our income up to $200,000 and 2.5% after $200,000. We dont pay a levy on the first $18,000 we earn. This then sees us get "free" healthcare. Fairer and cheaper than private health insurance wuth uts hidden bills

Population size is irrelevant. It's common sense. Ootion 1 Pay 1.5% -2.5% of your income on a Medicare levy for "free" healthcare where you don't get billed if you need hospital for anything or pay about 4% of your salary on private healthcare where you still get billed if you stay in hospital,
My daughter at age 4 got treated fir Leukaemia. The chemotherapy, hospital stays other medications were supplied FREE. Both my strokes where I stayed in hospital, had a stentorian put in my carotid artery etc no bill

i paid attention to politics back then, i just wasnt obsessed with it (daily) as i am now. Obama was a great President! i often think about ted kennedy's role in the ACA, and Joe Biden too! but everything changed in 2015 for sure.
This was the day I knew my disabled child would be safe and get the care he needs. That feeling of security is gone I know it's any day that it will all be gone.
