Yet the standing executive order still dates to the first year of the first Obama administration.
He should take their advice.
- Require agencies to report how many secrets they keep, in pages and bytes
- Specifically state that violations of law may not be classified
- Clearly define what “damage to national security” means
If Biden issued the new order, even during his final days, agencies would immediately have to begin changing their classification policies.
