In your eagerness to make foreign lawmakers and agencies looks stupid, using excessive analogy, you miss the interesting problem which is why Apple cannot work with local regulatory bodies which share some goals (user privacy).
While it is true that bureaucracy is a problem in the EU and France, your focus solely on this flaw to dismiss any political effort to regulate corporations is an insult to the intelligence of your readers.
There is enough populist noise these days, we don’t need the smartest people to give in to it.
I guess you always had this mocking part to your character and it is appreciated but it makes me uncomfortable when it is tinted of chauvinism. Maybe it is just me though.
